Almost there!

I know, I know its been a very long time since I posted last. Well you all know how my last semester has been going. But thankfully it is almost over. I graduate on Saturday, December 10th. I am very excited, the only downfall is that I still have exams the next few days after graduation but I will be done with school. Well for alittle while that is. I think back at this crazy semester and I can just thank god I finished without having a major nervous breakdown. It was a very busy semester with tons of papers. I did get my capstone paper done and can say with great happiness, 92%. Also to add to my 6 courses I have been looking for a house and a new job.
Well out of my 3 goals, I have completed 2 of them. I will graduate and I have a new and exciting job. I am working at Gentiva Health services. If anyone is intrested it is www.gentiva.com It is basically a PT/OT home program, but I will be in my own office!
Brock and I are looking for a house now, its really hard because we think we fell in love with a home then something changes. We fell in love with this house in downtown GR but after my dad saw it we found some big problems. we always new the yard was really small, and I mean small! But the bathroom wall needed to be replaced and so did all the windows in the house. Now it might not seem like a whole lot but I think its more than we are prepared to take on right now. So on Sunday I am going to go look at a house that is only 12 years old, I am alittle nervous but we will see. Also there a few homes that are brand new we might look into too. The only problem with that is the start up costs of all the appliences. So when we find the right house we will know.....
So as far as everything else. Roco is doing good. After his Spinich fit after Thanksgiving that is. He is full grown at 58 lbs. Far less than our orginal thoughts. Louie and Claudia are still adjusting to him but I think Louie is better off.
Lets see, any news with Kenny. There will be a cruise in the carribean with Kenny chesney. I wish I could go but to say I am still a broke college kid I don't think that will be happening. Even though I wish it was!

Has it been that long?

Anyways, I have been so busy lately I haven't been able to post anything in awhile. Brock and I have been working many hours lately plus my school thing doesn't make time slow down any. But only 2 months left and I will be done, well for alittle while atleast.
Last weekend was Kristin & Brandon's Wedding (The Churchman's). The service was at Holy Parish Church in GR on Lk Michigan Drive and the reception was at The Pinnacle Center in Hudsonville. We all had such a great time. Brock was the Best man in the Wedding so we were there for the whole "thing". It was a beautiful fall day and the weather was picture perfect. I will hopefully have pictures up soon! I think the highlight of the dancing portion was Brock and I doing the Aligator. What a sight to see!!!!!!
This weekend Steve (My Bro) is playing at Jenison so on Saturday the rents are coming up, we will do some shopping and then for dinner. It should be fun. Sunday is football day for Brock and for me its time to take care of business on regards to my capstone paper as well as my presentation in death and dying. I know pretty ugly subject!
The job hunt for myself is going....For those of you know its going actually really well. I will hopefully have awesome news in the weeks to come.
Not much else is happening here. I have to go and get ready for work in a few mins. Oh what fun on a friday night!!!

Monday Fun?

All I can say is the past few days have been very busy! Last week Marie and Abbey helped me finish the Race for the Cure Shirts, well I do admit Abbey did the majority of the work. She designed an awesome design of the Shining Pink Stars. Then Thursday night consisted of many hours of ironing the logo's on the shirts. Friday was another busy day running around GR trying to get everything done that needed to be done for the Race and other wifely duties. We then (18 of us) went out to Macronni Grill for dinner. It was an awesome and yummy dinner. I had chicken scallopine with fried calamarai for a starter with good salad and bread. I also had a ulimate leaning belleni. And for dessert Brock and I shared the turtle cheesecake. After my meal it was a good thing that i was walking a 5K the next am. The next day was Race for the cure. And all I can say about that was organized chaos. It was the largest event ever, almost 15,000 people. But it was a blast to honor my mom. The next day Brock and stayed at home, did some laundry, slept, watched football and relaxed!
Today I had work and class. I should be studying for my applied phys. quiz but instead I am writting all of you. I also emailed the Oprah show and how I would love to meet Kenny Chesney. Now I just need to send in a vido tape! We will see what that brings....More to come
I will be adding pics to webshots soon of the race

Saturday...I am at work

It is a saturday afternoon and where am I? I am at Spectrum Blodgett Orthopedics. Yea thats exciting. Besides working alot I have been incredibly busy, like most of you already know. School started almost 2 weeks ago and I think my classes are going well, it still hard to tell since its early in the semester. We got back on Wednesday night from Florida and it was fun, hot but fun. It started Thursday night when we drove down to our parents house since it is part way to Chicago and watched some tv and dropped Roco off at the Nye Residents. The next morning we headed off to Midway Aiport and we got very lucky since we didn't hit any traffic we made it there in 1 hour and 40 mins. INCREDIBLE! So then we went to the terminal and relaxed. When we got to Orlando We had some time to kill before the shuttle picked us up so we did some shopping and ate some chick fil a. (One of my fav resturants) When we got to The Villages we had pizza hit the hot tub and enjoyed our time in florida. But the one downside when we got there was Central Florida for the most part was really low or completly out of gas. So our trip to Tampa was cancelled:( but Matt and Melissa thankfully drove from Tampa to see us for a few days, we then all hit the pool, got some dinner and had fun. The next day there was a golf cart parade with over 3500 golf carts, let me tell ya it was crazy, so many golf carts. And not all the golf carts were regular carts, Oh no there were Hummers, caddies, you name it. There were even spinners! But we all got really sun burnt and then headed off to dinner at RJ Gators. That night we took a swim in the pool and Matt and Melissa took off back home. The next day Matt suprised tina by coming down to Florida and the next days we just sat back swam, drank and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Oh its so nice to go on vacation.
So now I am back at work working 3 12 hours shifts and 1- 8 hour shift in 4 days, I am very tierd!

Last Friday of Freedom:(

It is the last friday of my official summer break and on Monday classes start:( I am going to be taking a pretty heavy class load this semester, 18 credits! I know I am alittle crazy but I didn't want to just to have 1 class to take in the winter semester. So my last semester at GVSU is going to be filled with long hours of studying at eihter Kirkoff center, downtown or one of my fav. coffee houses. But hey I will be done and Brock and I can ser. look at buying a house around here. We have found a few we really like but since we need to wait......
Today is also a positive day. In a week we will be leaving for Florida. Super excited. We don't have many plans fig. out for when we get down there. Just sit back and enjoy the sun. We are going to a water park one day with Matt and Melissa, and I know Brock and I are very happy that we get a chance to meet up with them while we are down there.
One last thing. The Race for the Cure is September 24th at the Rivertown Mall. IF anyone is intrested in walking/running the 5K with my team, the shinning pink stars :) please let me know, I would love to have as many people as I can get!

Update on my face

Well its been over a week and finally I am looking and feeling pretty normal again. The past few days have been very frustrating and intresting! I got my splint off and bandages off on Thursday and it started to swell up again that night. At the doc's appt I was told I had a latex burn on my nose but it should go away in a day with some ice. Well that was def. not the case! I woke up Friday morning and my face was extremely swollen and rashed. My eyes were the worst part and I know I didn't have surgery on my eyes but they did tape my eyes closed during the long surgery. Which now I look back and relize why. When I woke from surgery my eyes were sooo itchy and I couldn't open them for a few hours without some help. Well back to my story. So Friday I spent the lovely day icing and re icing my face while taking bendryl every 4 hours. So I slept most of the day but very broken sleep! The swelling and rashed just cont to get worse. On Saturday Morning I woke up with my eyes swollen shut! I could barely see anything. So I called my primary care doc so I could get permission to go to Urgent care. It only took over an hour and half to get a call back and let me say I was not in good shape by that point. We then arrived at Grandville Urgent care and they rushed me back for an assesment. I then got a nice shot in my hip of Solu-Medrol, which is a very high dose steriod. I also got a prescription of Allergra and more Predisone (more steriods) The swelling went down alittle but in a few hours. But I had a bridal shower to go to. So I went looking alittle funny. After the shower we went over to Kristin and Brandon's house for a bbq. It was alot of fun but since I couldn't play volleyball I sat on the deck for awhile until the bee's came out then I headed inside since I didn't want to get stung. (I am dealthly allergic to bee stings) By the time we got home last night the swelling was down but still rashy. And this morning I am looking like normal well sort of. It looks like I got a nsty sunburn but other than that I am good. My nose looks really nice and I can't believe how well I am breathing already!
So let me get back to the HMO part of my story or a rant and a rave. I hate HMO's whoever thought about getting permission to go to Urgent care or the ER is stupid. I understand if the doctor is in office but if its the middle of the night or the weekend you should be able just to go on in if its let say an allergic reaction. My first reaction a few weeks ago it took the doctor over 2 hours to call back and this time it was over an hour and half. If the doctor is on call they should answer their cell phone, beeper or whatever. It just makes me mad when I am having a severe allergic reaction I have to wait for the doc to say its ok to get treatment. Stupid insurance companies.
